Available in sedan, coupe, and hatchback body styles, the new 2017 Honda Civic has finally graced our presence. Although it’s slotted between the compact Honda Fit and the full-size Accord, the new Civic is far from the middle child. It boasts a tremendous list of features, powerful engines, and charismatic style that gives it an identity all its own—and we’re proud to call the 2017 Civic one of our favorites at your South Florida Honda Dealers. Here’s what makes the Civic a sight to behold.

Impeccable Exterior Styling and Performance

Now in its tenth generation, the Honda Civic looks just as stellar as it ever has. Aggressive front-end curves and lines make the 2017 Honda Civic stand out, even in the crowded compact and mid-size crowd. Its graceful profile and elongated wheelbase radiates with sporty styling—styling that’s typically reserved for only high-end (aka. “pricey”) sedans. To emphasize its debonair appearance, the 2017 Civic comes with optional features like LED headlights and taillights, door visors, rear decklid winged spoilers, chrome handles, heated side mirrors with integrated turn indicators, rain-sensing wipers, and splash guards.

Many of the innovations presented in the completely redesigned 2016 Civic are carried over in its newest model, though the biggest addition for the 2017 sedan is a standard six-speed transmission on the EX-T trim (and base LX). Honda’s continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) are optional on the LX and EX-T and standard on the EX, EX-L, and Touring trims. Similarly, the 2017 Civic Coupe LX and EX-T comes with a standard six-speed, and the LX-P, EX-L, and Touring models are fitted with a CVT.

EPA mileage ratings for the sedan top out at 32 city/42 highway MPG in the top trims featuring a CVT, while the baseline LX comes in at 28 city/40 highway MPG. The coupe sees a standard 28 city/39 highway MPG. A 2.0-liter DOHC engine that makes 158 horsepower comes standard in the 2017 Civic LX and EX sedans and the LX and LX-P coupes; both the sedan and coupe’s EX-T, EX-L, and Touring trims come with a turbocharged 1.5L engine that makes 174 horsepower.

A Roomy Interior with Modern Features to Boot!

Like a good wine, the Honda Civic has only matured with age, featuring one of the most polished and spacious cabins in the segment.

In the back are 60/40 split fold-down seats that open up the already spacious trunk—15.1 cu. ft. of cargo room—for additional pass-through storage. An available cargo net accessory for the trunk helps keep you organized, as well. With seating for up to five passengers, the 2017 Civic is certainly roomy, but it doesn’t end there.

The central storage console is always within the driver’s reach, offering an available wireless charging station and secure stowage solutions for everything from a travel coffee mug to a tablet.  A single-level instrumentation cluster is as beautiful in its blue-lit hue as it is functional, while the 8-way power seat with adjustable lower cushion makes even the longest ride a comfy one. Add heated leather seating to the mix, and you’re in business (also optional for rear seats).

A standard multi-angle rearview camera and dual-zone climate control come with all trims, while Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come with EX models and up. Honda owners may already be familiar with the Civic’s other standard and optional features, including the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™, USB ports, a 10-speaker audio system, Pandora® and SiriusXM® compatibility, HondaLink®, and the award-winning Honda Sensing™ safety suite.
