After last year’s redesign, the Honda Pilot has been on every car owner’s radar. Glowing reviews and fantastic word of mouth have piled up, putting the Pilot in the driver’s seat in its class. And with the 2017 Honda Pilot, things have only gotten better. Here’s what you should expect when you take a look at the newest Pilot SUV from your nearest South Florida Honda Dealers location.

Changes for the 2017 Honda Pilot

What’s new for the 2017 Pilot, you ask? Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are now standard starting with EX trims, and a black interior is offered on all trims (with White Diamond Pearl exterior colors). Some may view these changes as minor, but at South Florida Honda Dealers, we see them as upgrades to an already-exceptional SUV.

An Interior That’s Larger Than Life

The third-gen Pilot is a tad smaller than 2016’s version, but it feels bigger once you’re inside.

The Pilot has three rows of seats that provide ample legroom for all passengers, a hidden under-floor storage compartments free up approximately three cubic feet of rear cargo space, and an elongated dashboard that opens up the front so that the tallest of drivers won’t feel claustrophobic behind the wheel. The middle seats offer comfortable lumbar support, and with its folding mechanism along the side, you’ll never be without access to the rear seats.

This added comfort matches nicely with the sophisticated splashes within the cabin, such as a versatile center console with storage, multiple USB ports, soft-touch surfaces, and an HD rear-entertainment center. Most impressive is Honda’s upgraded Garmin navigation system and colorful touchscreen, which will be adored by millennials and their parents alike.

Incredible Safety & Performance

For 2017, Honda pushed its Honda Sensing suite of safety tech into all but the base Honda Pilot LX model. Bundled together now are available features like lane-keep assist, rear cross-path detection, road-departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, LaneWatch alerts, and rearview cameras.

Under the hood is a single engine: a 3.5L V6 that delivers 280 horsepower and, when paired with the six-speed automatic, an estimated 19 city/27 highway mpg. Also available in the 2017 Honda Pilot Touring and Elite trims is a nine-speed transmission that is incredibly responsive and quick to shift.

The Pilot is built on a flexible chassis—the Pilot frame has even become Honda’s go-to outline for other models—and you can feel that perfected piece of engineering from driver’s seat. With a shockingly tight turning radius, the 2017 Pilot confidently maneuvers twists and turns with ease, and its nimbleness is further showcased in packed parking garages. Even cabin noise is subdued thanks to acoustic sound-dampening technology.
