Maple Glazed Turkey with Bacon and Sage Butter

Bacon goes great with everything, so why not wrap it around your Thanksgiving turkey too? Once your turkey is thawed, season it inside and out with salt and pepper. Loosen the skin, and begin to spread sage butter underneath. Next, glaze the entire turkey with maple syrup. Starting to sound delicious, right?

Bake the glazed turkey for a couple of hours and baste with additional maple syrup every 30 minutes. Then, strategically arrange strips of bacon across the top of the turkey and glaze again. Bake the turkey for about one more hour before carving and serving. This turkey is sure to keep your dinner from turning bland.

Fresh Green Bean Casserole

This is a fairly simple vegetable side dish that will compliment any Thanksgiving turkey. Start by boiling the green beans in chicken broth for 20 minutes while mixing breadcrumbs, parmesan, and two teaspoons of oil in a small bowl. Sauté onions and mushrooms for a few minutes in a skillet before adding the green beans.

Mix chicken broth, cornstarch, and water. Pour this blend over the green beans. Add sour cream, garlic powder, pepper, and salt to the skillet and begin to stir. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle with panko and cheese. Bake for about ten minutes or until the breadcrumb topping is a crispy brown.

Apple Pecan Stuffing

Some people love simple stuffing to pair with their Thanksgiving turkey, but if you are looking to cook out of the box, try this apple pecan stuffing. In a large skillet, sauté carrots, celery, apples, and garlic until they become soft. Add sugared onions to the mixture. Place the mixture in a bowl with cubed bread and toss.

Add chicken broth to the mix along with salt, pepper, pecans, parsley, and Beau Monde seasoning. Spoon the mixture into a well-greased baking pan and cook for 45 minutes, covered in foil. Remove the foil and bake for an extra five to ten minutes until the top is crusty and brown.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Monkey Bread

A Thanksgiving dinner wouldn’t be complete without a delicious dessert. Pumpkin Cheesecake Monkey Bread is easy to make and will please every guest at the table. Take four cans of biscuits and separate each biscuit into four pieces. Add the pieces into a storage-sized plastic bag with granulated sugar and pumpkin pie spice.

In a 1-quart saucepan, heat brown sugar, butter, pumpkin, and cream cheese until the butter is melted. Pour this mixture and biscuit pieces in a cake pan. Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown, and let it cool for 15 minutes before serving.
