Whether you’re from here in Miami or along the western coastline of the country, you’re surely aware that Florida Spring Training is an event to behold. With fastballs, grand slams, and Cracker Jack galore, each of these five Spring Training baseball games will have you ready for the regular season. So oil up your mitt, bring along the family, and spend an afternoon at the stadium.

1) Boston Red Sox vs. Washington Nationals (March 30th)

The final series for both the Sox and Nationals will begin on March 30th at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, FL. Both these clubs are heavy-hitters and bound for postseason success once Spring Training ends, so this game could mirror things to come. Will it be the Big Papi-less Red Sox that comes out on top, or will the Nationals win by virtue of Stephen Strasburg’s arm and Bryce Harper’s bat?

2) Toronto Blue Jays vs. Detroit Tigers (March 22nd)

The opening pitch for this game will come from the mound at the 5,510-seat Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin, FL. The Tigers, led by Justin Verlander, are hoping to throw their way into the playoffs this year, while the Blue Jays and their excellent bullpen are looking to do the same. Could this Spring Training game be a preview of a September wild-card matchup?

3) Houston Astros @ Miami Marlins (March 21st)

Beltran, McCann, and the rest of the Astros team might have a potent lineup, but when they enter the Marlins’ Roger Dean Stadium in Juniper this March, 21st, all bets are off. That’s because this Miami club has perhaps the best relief pitchers in baseball, and alongside the always great Giancarlo Stanton, they should be scoring runs all the way through October.

4) NY Mets vs. St. Louis Cardinals (March 28th)

The injury bug struck the Mets hard in the offseason, but with returning players Cespedes and Bruce at the team’s helm, a surprising regular season may be in the works. On the other side of the diamond is a St. Louis squad that isn’t keen on missing the playoffs in back-to-back years. Catch all the action when the two clubs meet at First Data Field in Port St. Lucie, FL toward the end of March.

5) Tampa Bay Rays @ NY Yankees (March 26th)

The George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa is nearly a complete replica of Yankee Stadium, which makes it one of our favorite venues for Spring Training in Florida. Both the Rays and Yanks failed to see October action last year, but this year these teams have a few tricks up their sleeves. This game should be fast and furious until the very end, so don’t miss a single inning.
