Everybody wants to enjoy the fair skies, warm temperatures, and scenic beaches of South Florida. That’s why there’s so much traffic when you drive from Boca Raton to Ft. Pierce or points in between. Your priority is to get to your destination safely. And Honda Sensing® helps with the following driver assists that monitor your surroundings, warn you of hazards, and, in some cases, take steps to avoid accidents.
Adaptive Cruise Control
As you get on I-95 to travel from Stuart to Delray Beach, Adaptive Cruise Control detects the cars in front of you, so that it can maintain a safe interval from them. While it tries to keep the cruising speed you set whenever possible, it can also automatically lower your rate to maintain distance.
Automatic High-Beam Headlights
When you drive above 25 MPH at night, you can engage Automatic High-Beam Headlights, which turns on your high beams to give you the brightest view of the road. If another vehicle approaches, the headlamps automatically switch to low beams to prevent the other driver from being blinded by the glare.
Blind Spot Information System
If you prepare to change lanes around Jupiter by turning your signal on, the Blind Spot Information System lets you know if a car is in your blind spot in the next lane. A visual indicator blinks in the appropriate outside mirror and an alert sounds. The warning continues until the area clears up.
Collision Mitigation Braking System™
If the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ detects a potential frontal crash on the streets of Lake Worth, it issues a warning. If you do not respond in time, it applies brake pressure to prevent or minimize the collision.
Cross Traffic Monitor
Cross-Traffic Monitor engages when you pull into reverse at Greenacres and set the Multi-Angle Rearview Camera for any view mode. If a vehicle approaches your rearward path, you receive an audio alert accompanied by an indicator on the camera display.
When you activate your right turn signal, Honda LaneWatch™ turns on the camera that is located in the outside passenger-side mirror. You then see live video of what’s on your right side projected on the Display Audio Touchscreen. This image reveals almost four times more of a view than what you get from the passenger-side mirror alone.
Lane Keeping Assist System
The Lane Keeping Assist System relies on a camera to monitor lane lines. If you become drowsy or inattentive while driving around West Palm Beach, your Honda model could cross the lines as it drifts off the lane. To prevent issues from happening, the system adjusts your steering to keep you centered within the lane lines.
Road Departure Mitigation System
The Road Departure Mitigation System detects if you inadvertently cross the road lanes around Riviera Beach without activating your turn signals. It starts with a warning and then engages braking and adjusts steering to bring you back on the road.
Traffic Sign Recognition
By using a small camera, Traffic Sign Recognition can detect speed limit signs around Palm Beach Gardens. It then shows that limit on your dashboard screen or Head-Up Display.
Honda Sensing® appears as a standard feature on the 2020 Honda Accord. It is also standard or an option on nearly all of the Honda lineup.
