Where to See Drive-Thru Christmas Lights in South Florida (2020)

Drive-Thru Christmas Lights Miami, FL

Christmas in Miami is going to be odd this year. But even amidst a pandemic, there’s one annual holiday tradition that won’t change: looking at Christmas lights. Last season, we gifted you a list of some South Florida houses that put up Christmas decorations—you should definitely go check them out—but we wanted to give you some more festive cheer to end this year. (Hey, that rhymes!) So, add these 5 stops to your 2020 “Kids, let’s go see some Christmas lights!” driving tour.

5. West Miami – Santa’s Spectacle! Drive-Thru Musical Extravaganza

Can you hear that? It’s Santa and his sleigh landing in West Miami, and it looks like he’s setting up shop temporarily. Follow carol singers and Nutcracker dancers as they lead you on a magical, musical adventure full of holiday sing-along classics, Christmas decorations, lights, and more. You can even buy a gift or souvenir from one of the small shops and vendors in the Holiday Market. Sounds like jolly good fun.

4. Miami – Bright Lights Festival

When the sun goes down, the lights turn on at the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park this Christmas. From November 20 to January 10, Bright Lights Miami’s drive-in event will combine the traditional holiday cheer with a spectacle of lasers. Over the course of 40 minutes, you’ll enjoy a mile-long, specially designed laser light show that will give you goosebumps. Seriously, don’t miss out on this holiday event.

3. Coconut Grove – Holiday Lights Drive-Through

From November 20 to New Year’s, Tradewind Parks becomes Coconut Grove’s version of winter wonderland. Drive through three extravagant miles of gigantic Christmas displays, LED lights, and holiday decorations. All guests must stay in their vehicles, which shouldn’t be a problem for you and your Honda Odyssey. Simply bring a thermos of hot cocoa, wear some jammies, and put a movie on the rear entertainment system for the kids to watch (there might be a little line).

1. Hallandale Beach – Symphony of Lights

Held at Gulfstream Park, this year’s Symphony of Lights runs from November 16 to December 31, 2020. Over 250,000 animated LED Christmas lights will be lit and set to holiday classics and Trans-Siberian Orchestra songs. The Christmas light shows run for 15 minutes at the top of the hour, from 6:00 to 11:00 PM.

Although the event isn’t a drive-thru, you can avoid the crowds and stay put inside your Honda Pilot. Put its panoramic moonroof to good use and celebrate the spectacle from afar.

Honda Pilot Panoramic Moonroof

Sadly, the area’s most popular holiday go-to, Santa’s Enchanted Forest, won’t be open for 2020. But as you can see, there are plenty of Christmas lights to see this year! Just hop in your Honda Pilot, turn on those heated leather seats, and get to lookin’.
